Audi A3 to go sub 120g/km

Audi is set to introduce a low CO2 A3 in September. The 1.9 TDIe features a reworked version of the current 1.9 litre engine, producing 105 bhp. In order to maximise fuel efficiency 3rd, 4th and 5th gear ratios have been extended whilst a gear change indicator systems prompts drivers to drive efficiently.

The A3 will come with a diesel particulate filter as standard which practically eliminates the emissions of fine particulate matter which contributes to poor local air quality and is carcinogenic.

The new model will achieve over 62 mpg on the combined cycle allowing it to emit just 119 g/km of CO2. This places it into car tax Band B for vehicles emitting between 101 – 120 g/km which costs £35 a year.
