Isuzu D-Max BEV electric pick-up

Isuzu D-Max BEV electric pick-up

Electric pick-up trucks have been thin on the ground to date, but the Isuzu D-Max BEV electric pick-up is due to be unveiled at the Bangkok International Motor Show starting on 27 March 2024.

The Isuzu D-Max BEV electric pick-up offers a 1-tonne payload, 3.5-tonne towing capacity, and a full-time 4WD system.

Newly developed e-Axles in the front and rear are claimed to offer excellent performance on rough terrain while minimising noise and vibration.

The Isuzu D-Max BEV has a 66.9kWh lithium-ion battery, a maximum output of 130kW, and a maximum speed of over 81mph.

The company plans to launch the D-Max BEV in select mainland European markets in 2025, with further expansion to the UK, Australia, Thailand, and other countries based on market demand and the development of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.

At the moment the only electric pick-up truck on sale in the UK is the Maxus T90, which is currently only available with rear-wheel drive – click here to read our Maxus T90EV review
