The Kia EV5 electric C-SUV offers up to 329 miles of range with a long-range 81.4kWh battery, and 150 kW DC charging delivers a 10% to 80% charge time of 30 minutes.
A next-generation battery heating and cooling function makes cabin heating more efficient, as well as preserving the all-electric range in cold conditions.
Bi-directional charging, including Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) offering up to 3.6kW of power, allows drivers to use the vehicle’s battery to power and charge external devices with an interior socket or an external adapter. The model is also equipped with Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) hardware, ready for operation once infrastructure or country regulations allow.
Engineered on Kia’s E-GMP architecture, with front-wheel drive, the EV5 has a 0-62 mph time of 8.4 seconds, and features an i-Pedal 3.0 system for one-pedal driving.
The EV5 has a 566-litre boot, or 1,650 litres with the rear seats folded, as well as a 44-litre front storage area (frunk). The rear seats fold completely flat, maximising boot space and creating a loading area of up to two metres in length. Seats include massage functions for the driver, four-way lumbar support, heating and ventilation.
The EV5’s cabin includes a panoramic wide display combining a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, and a 5.3-inch climate control display. The car can gain new features and services via over-the-air (OTA) updates.
The EV5 is equipped with Online Navigation, a feature that provides live map information to the car.
The base EV5 model has 18 or 19-inch wheels, 19-inch wheels for the EV5 ‘GT-Line’, and later, 20-inch wheels for the sporty EV5 ‘GT’.
The EV5 has a towing capacity of 1,200 kg.
