Nissan

Nissan launched the original Leaf in 2010 and effectively created the mainstream EV market. Fifteen years on, the third-generation Leaf – built in Sunderland and reinvented as a crossover on the CMF-EV platform shared with the Ariya – gives the brand a credible C-segment EV again, with up to 375 miles of range. The new electric Nissan Micra, based on a platform shared with the Renault 5,  is also now available in the UK. The Ariya, launched in 2022, is the larger family SUV, and the X-Trail e-Power offers a series-hybrid alternative for buyers not ready to plug in. On the commercial side the Townstar electric van has replaced the e-NV200. Alongside the new Leaf, Nissan’s in-house e-Power hybrid technology now extends across Qashqai and X-Trail and gives Nissan one of the broadest electrified ranges of any mainstream brand in the UK.
