The Suzuki e VITARA has been unveiled, the brand’s first EV, with sales due to start in Europe in summer 2025.
Two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive options will be available, with 49 kWh and 61 kWh batteries. The four-wheel drive model will have 135 kW of power and 300 Nm of torque, with a kerb weight of 1,860-1,899 kg.
The e VITARA is based on the concept model eVX and features an electric 4WD system ALLGRIP-e that Suzuki says provides “not only off-road capability – combined with the e VITARA having 180mm ground clearance – but also powerful performance”.
ALLGRIP-e is an electric 4WD system that utilizes Suzuki’s expertise in four-
wheel drive technology, featuring two independent eAxles at the front and rear integrating the motor and inverter.
A Trail mode applies brakes to spinning wheels and distributes drive torque to the opposite wheel – effectively an LSD function.
The platform employs the newly developed HEARTECT-e specifically for BEVs. It features a lightweight structure, high-voltage protection, and the main floor eliminates the underfloor members to maximise the capacity of the lithium iron-phosphate battery.
