The Electric Vauxhall Mokka GSE (Grand Sport Electric) is now on sale, based on the Mokka GSE Rally version. The roadgoing version features 281hp and 345Nm of torque – identical to the Mokka GSE Rally – with a 0-62mph time of 5.9 seconds and a 124 mph top speed, making it the fastest Vauxhall all-electric production model.
The Mokka GSE has uprated suspension, steering and brakes, as well as a 10mm lower ride height, and the front-wheel drive chassis features a Torsen limited-slip differential. There are three driving modes, Sport, Normal and Eco.
The Mokka GSE sits on 20-inch GSE performance diamond-cut two-tone alloy wheels, with high-grip Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyres.
The exterior and the interior both benefit from GSE design enhancements.
The 54kWh (gross) lithium-ion battery delivers a range of up to 209 miles (WLTP). Battery recharging from 0-80% takes 30 minutes using a 100kW DC rapid charger, while a 0-100% charge from an 11kW AC charger will take 5 hours and 45 minutes. An 11kW on-board charger with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability is fitted as standard; a V2L adapter is available as an accessory through Vauxhall retailers.
The motorsport version – the Vauxhall Mokka GSE Rally – is the first vehicle developed to the FIA’s new eRally5 regulations.
The Mokka GSE can trace its lineage back to a long line of attainable performance models, beginning with the Astra GTE Mk1 in 1984. In 1987, the Vauxhall Nova also received the GTE treatment, with a 100bhp 1.6-litre fuel-injected engine, a kerb weight of just 876kg and a 117mph top speed.
The Mokka GSE is available from just £35,495 (including the Electric Car Grant), with the Electric All In pack offering an additional £500 towards a home charger or public charging.
