Dacia Spring 2027

New Dacia Spring Electric grows in size but is still due to be priced below £18,000

The second-generation Dacia Spring is the first of four new electric models from the brand.

The A-segment EV has all-new design and is built on Renault Group’s new RG-EV Small platform, and is now 15cm longer and 18cm wider, providing more interior space. The Spring has been developed in under two years, which also delivers cost reduction, and is built in Slovenia.

It is anticipated that the New Dacia Spring range will be priced below £18,000 before any potential government subsidies. Full UK pricing will be confirmed in due course.

Dacia says that owners of the first-generation Spring use their cars primarily for the daily commute, covering an average of 13 miles per day, at an average of 13mph. In 75% of cases, the car is charged at home.

The new Spring has a 27.5 kWh (usable) LFP battery giving a WLTP electric driving range of up to 155 miles and a 50 kW DC charging speed. An onboard 6.6 kW AC charger is standard; the optional Charge Pack includes an 11 kW AC charger and 50 kW DC charger, delivering a 15% to 80% charge in 28 minutes.

The Charge Pack also includes vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, allowing it to power small electrical appliances such as lights, e-bike batteries and coffee makers.

The Spring weighs just 1,212kg, making it one of the lightest all-electric models available, and resulting in an efficient power consumption of just 12.7 kWh/100 km (WLTP combined cycle).

The electric motor develops 60 kW (80 hp) and torque of 175 Nm, resulting in acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in 12.1 seconds and a top speed of 80 mph.

The new Dacia Spring is 3.85m long and 1.74m wide with a boot capacity of up to 337 litres, which can be increased to 1,283 litres by folding the rear seat, which includes a 50/50 split.

The new Spring remains the only A-segment vehicle to feature a “frunk”, a storage space under the bonnet. Available as an option, it provides an additional 18 litres of storage space, ideal for stowing the charging cable.

The new Spring comes in two trim levels, Expression and Journey, both with the same 60 kW / 80 hp motor, the same 27.5 kWh LFP battery and the same 6.6 kW AC charger.

On Expression trim, drivers are able to manage radio/media functions and access other features from their smartphones which can be mounted in a phone holder on the dashboard.

Journey trim includes the Media Nav Live system with a 10.1-inch central touchscreen and wireless smartphone mirroring via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

A 7-inch digital instrument cluster is standard on all trim levels, the steering wheel is both height and reach-adjustable, and a brilliant feature is Dacia’s ‘My Safety’ function, which allows drivers to easily customise ADAS settings on start-up, to avoid adjusting each one individually every time.

Expression trim includes 15-inch Mura steel wheels with wheel embellishers, central locking with remote control, electric front windows and wing mirrors, manual air conditioning, automatic headlights, rear parking sensors, electric handbrake, Media Control system with a USB-C port, 50/50 split-fold rear bench seat, split boot floor, three YouClip mounting points, sliding, height-adjustable driver’s seat with reclining backrest, fabric upholstery.

Journey trim adds 16-inch Drava steel wheels with wheel embellishers, hands-free card, reversing camera, Media Nav Live system with 10.1-inch central screen, navigation and connected services, two USB-C ports, one YouClip mounting point, luggage compartment cover, TEP/fabric upholstery.

The new Spring is available in four colours: Agave, Shadow Grey, Diamond Black and Glacier White.
